Spring Tea for Kapha

FB_cupPS

Spring is cool and damp and most closely related to kapha dosha. Regardless of your constitution (or dosha), everyone will feel the seasonal influences. You may feel heavy and sluggish and possibly experience sinus congestion or allergies. This light, warming kapha spring tea is perfect to get kapha moving and restore balance.

Makes 2 cups

1 lemongrass stalk, chopped

½ inch ginger, peeled, sliced

4 sprigs of mint leaves

6 pippili

8 green cardamom pods

1 green tea bag (optional)

Honey (to taste)

In a spouted measuring cup, add the lemongrass, ginger, mint leaves, pippili and cardamom; set aside.

In a small pan, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Pour into the measuring cup with the herbs. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes. Pour into two tea cups; add honey and serve.
